Representatives of more than 175 companies attended an exhibition in Leicester which showcased state-of-the-art office communication equipment.

The event, held at the National Space Centre, included a series of seminars which gave visitors a chance to see new office technology in action and predicted future trends.

The event, hosted by city firms LAN Systems and Daly Telecoms, featured exhibitions from 12 organisations, including hi-tech giants BT, Canon UK and Siemens.

LAN Systems, which employs 18 people in Regent Road, provides IT network design and management, while Daly Telecoms, which employs about 20 people in Aylestone Road, designs, installs, maintains and upgrades voice and data systems.

Wayne Taylor, LAN's managing director, said: "The exhibition was our chance to put all of the technology in one place for customers to see.

"The technology worked well, and our customers were amazed."

Donald Robertson, Daly's general manager, said: "More than 175 companies turned up on the day. The level of interest was remarkable and both ourselves and LAN are looking to get a lot of new work as a result
